couples + family Sessions

Meaningful photographs of the people you love.

Slow summers, old family albums, wild places, and the people we love.

Portrait sessions for families, couples, and individuals take place throughout Santa Rosa Beach and the Emerald Coast, often outdoors and in places that hold a sense of beauty, memory, or meaning.

I’m less interested in creating a perfectly posed version of your life than in preserving something of the life you’re actually living. A walk through the woods. Dinner on the beach. An evening swim. Bare feet, windblown hair, children wandering in and out of the frame. The ordinary things that may not feel important now, but often become the photographs we treasure most later.

I’ll offer guidance when it’s helpful, but you’ll never be expected to perform for the camera. The goal is to create photographs that feel honest, beautiful, and lived-in—images of your relationships and this particular season of life, made to grow more meaningful with time.

why film?

I’m biased, but I think people look incredible on film. I love the way it renders skin, light, color, and movement—with softness and depth, but without losing the detail that makes a photograph feel alive. There is a richness to film that I have never been able to fully recreate digitally, and it is a large part of why I choose to work this way.

There is also something about film that feels deeply connected to memory. So many of the photographs we return to—old family albums, boxes of slides, summers from decades ago—were made this way. I love being part of that lineage, working in the same photographic tradition to document people and families living their lives now. It gives the work a sense of continuity, as though today’s photographs are already becoming part of a larger archive.

And in a world that is increasingly fast, digital, and screen-based, I find myself drawn to the physicality of film even more. Light enters the camera and leaves its trace on a negative. A roll is finite. There is waiting, intention, and a little unpredictability built into the process. For me, that keeps photography connected to something tactile and human—and creates photographs that feel made to be printed, held, kept, and returned to over time.

Portrait Offerings:

Film Portrait Session — $950

For couples, individuals, and immediate families. These sessions are designed around spending meaningful time together rather than performing for the camera. We might walk, swim, picnic, explore, or simply spend time in a place that feels like you. I’ll offer direction when it’s helpful, but there is room for things to unfold naturally.

Includes:

  • approximately 60-90 minutes

  • one location or two closely connected settings

  • a curated gallery of approximately 45–60 finished photographs

  • professional film developing and high-resolution scanning

  • private online gallery with downloadable files

  • personal printing rights

  • access to professional print ordering

These sessions are meant to create more than a collection for your phone. They’re photographs of this particular season of life, made to be shared now and kept for later.

Limited Film Mini Session

Shorter film sessions are offered selectively throughout the year, usually during quieter seasons or on designated mini-session dates. These are simple, focused portrait sessions for couples, individuals, motherhood, or small families who want a smaller collection of photographs without booking a full session.

Availability and pricing are announced as dates are released, but you’re always welcome to reach out and inquire about a film mini.

Extended Family Sessions — beginning at $1,500

Extended family sessions are photographed using a thoughtful mix of digital and 35mm film.

Digital allows me to reliably photograph larger groupings and the combinations that matter, while film brings its distinctive color, texture, and character to the more candid and observational parts of the session.

Pricing varies according to group size, location, and scope. Please inquire for a custom quote.

Super 8 — $500

Super 8 is not simply a vintage-looking version of modern video. It is a different medium entirely.

Modern digital video can preserve a moment with extraordinary clarity and detail. Super 8 does something else. Its grain, softness, flicker, movement, and limited frames strip a scene down to its feeling—the way someone moves, the light on the water, a child running past the camera, a hand reaching for another. It is less about documenting every detail and more about preserving the atmosphere of a memory.

Shot on real motion-picture film, each roll is finite and every frame is physical. There is no screen on the back of the camera and no endless recording. I have to watch, anticipate, and choose what to preserve. The result feels less like conventional video coverage and more like an old home movie made of your life now.

That is what I love most about Super 8. It has the visual language of the family films many of us grew up watching, but the memories are yours—the people you love, in this particular season, moving through the world exactly as they are.

Super 8 may be added to a full session for $500 and is professionally developed, scanned, and edited into a short film.
