Hey, It's Been Awhile!
After taking a bit of a hiatus from blogging, I’m back and happier than ever to be here.
If you’d read my blog before, you may have noticed that things just look really different over here. And if you didn’t notice, no worries one bit. I’ve been so busy figuring out who I am as a brand and business, and to be honest, I got a little bit lost in that journey.
Sometimes in the quest to define who we are and what we do, we actually lose touch with who we are. Labeling ourselves makes us feel like we have to fall within those parameters for said label.
I really, really, really don’t like labels.
When I first donated everything, moved, and began sharing pictures and my journey on Instagram I had zero direction. I was just sharing what I loved. Turning this into my business happened quite organically at first, and I honestly had no idea what I was doing. I started to get more and more clients, beach photos, weddings, styled work, content creation, you name it. As a result, I felt a bit less like a rookie, and that it was time to step up my game. This past summer, I was ready to brand myself. I had a logo created, a branding guide, and put together a new website. I began to make things more professional, including creating a better way to book and communicate with clients, and just overall, improved my work flows, etc.
Somehow I ended up feeling lost.
I guess I have a strong desire to share my journey, my thoughts, and my lifestyle with you all. I felt disconnected.
Like I didn’t know what to talk about all of a sudden. Usually I have a laundry list of topics because I never worried about being “on brand.”
Can I be super honest here (you know I will be regardless)? Sometimes I fret over whether or not I’ll be taken seriously enough. I think that may be part of my problem. I worry that I’ll just come across a bit too informal or sloppy… a big joke. Most days I’m this frazzled mom, running around with a three year old, two big dogs, and way too much coffee.
But I’m getting over that fear a bit at a time, and I am going to be coming back to this space to share all the things about life and my lifestyle that I love so much… minimal living, business as a mom, style, beach life, intentional practices, and so forth. I have a lot of passions, and that needs to be expressed here.
Thanks for sticking with me! And drop me a line below to say hi, and let me know what you’d like more of. Or if you can relate to anything I mentioned above.
With love,
Lindsay
