Struggles, Sacrifices, and the Stuff that is Hard to Share

I'm going to jump right to the point today instead of my usual long winded intro.

Lately I've been feeling a ton of stress.  I've been under financial pressure recently, my least favorite kind of stress.  You see, my husband and I both work for ourselves, and that means that we have no sense of security.  I can't count on a steady paycheck ever.  I chose this life, yes...

I Bit Off More than I Can Chew

Well, I certainly bit off more than I can chew...

Last week, I shared all about the flamingo experience I had here as well as on Instagram + Facebook.  I mentioned that prints were available, thinking maybe a few people would want to buy some.  I received over 100 inquiries within the first two days, and they keep coming in.

Rare Flamingos in NW Florida

I am SO beyond excited to share my photos and recent experience.  Flamingos are here in NW Florida!!!  Let me rewind...

Last week we had tropical storm Cindy come through the area.  It rained for days.  I was scrolling on Facebook, and happened to come across this story.  How cool that a pair of flamingos were so close to where I live!?  If only they had come a little further east and they'd be in my neighborhood.  No one seems to know where they came from...

30A Unicorn Light

Happy Tuesday!

Last night I bought tons of food for a dinner picnic on the beach; however, we were so hungry that we couldn't wait and loaded up first, and then packed super light for the beach (aka camera and two towels). Bonus: We had dinner number two when we got home!

The beach was absolutely magical last night.

Yoga ON the Mat

Before I had Bodie I practiced yoga almost daily. Some practices were hard and vigorous, while others were slow and restorative. Some practices long, and others short... but regardless, I made the time to get on my mat even when working long hours. I even practiced throughout my pregnancy all the way up until the day the little guy was born (btw that story is coming soon!). But let me tell you, my practice has really gone to crap since that day!

June Update and What's Next

It's been way too long since I shared on here, and I will not say it's because I've been too busy.  For awhile I tried to really plan out the content on my blog, but that was hard for me.  I'm not a planner.  I prefer to write about whatever is on my mind, and these days there is a lot, maybe too much, going on upstairs.  I found that my emotional state didn't always match what I was supposed to be writing about.  Things just kind of unraveled, but with that said, I will be back to two blog posts a week starting now, and I'll be sharing whatever I feel like.  Sounds good?

Here is what I've been up to...

Tuna Poke Bowl

Happy Friday! I'm skipping this week's Friday Feels post because I feel like talking about tuna poke instead. If I could wear a shirt that said tuna + avocado + soy sauce I would. That's how much I did these ingredients. Would you wear this shirt? Or what would your favorite ingredient shirt look like?

Everyday Non-Toxic Skincare

How was everyone's weekend?  The rain held off here, and I got in some really special QT with Ed and Bodie.  On Sunday we went for a bike ride, and then out to dinner.  We ended the evening with a walk and some gigantic ice cream cones.  I had the cappuccino chip (my favorite) in a chocolate dipped waffle cone because I believe in balance... ;)

I'll remind you all that I decided to overhaul my blog a month or so ago in an effort to connect more and cover more aspects of my on purpose lifestyle.  This includes conscious beauty, holistic wellness, and movement.  I am a huge advocate for organic, natural, and non-toxic living.  It is essential for our health and the environment...

Friday Feels

Happy Friday from Florida!

We've had a beautiful week here, and are now heading into a rainy weekend.  I'm okay with that.  I like the balance of having some rainy days.  I'm writing this, quite honestly, exhausted.  Last night we were up from 3-6am, and I never got into that good recovery sleep.  I just made myself a little iced coffee in order to write this.  The struggle is real!

Live on Purpose 101

One day I realized that I was totally lost.  I knew I had more to offer this world, but couldn't quite put my finger on it.  I "had it all," yet felt like I had nothing I wanted.  I  worked for years to have the big degree, the great job, the beautiful home.  I worked out, drank green juice, practiced yoga...  why was I totally unsatisfied?  How could that be?

Have you ever googled "what should I do with my life?" I have.  More than once, too.

Manatee Adventure

I'm an animal person. If you are, too, you get what I mean by this. I LOVE animals.

I've seen manatees at Disney World, and have longed to see one on the wild for years. Little did I know when I moved to the Emerald Coast that they'd be in my backyard! For some reason I thought I'd need to be further south to really see them.

Friday Feels

Happy Friday, friends!

I hope everyone had a good week.  Let's jump right into it...

What I'm feeling: This week's full moon.  What a sight she was rising over the Gulf of Mexico.  I went out for sunset on Wednesday, and as spectacular as the color show was, the rising full moon just blew me away.  Some of you may have followed along on my Instagram Live...

Flexible is Sustainable

Last week I spent a solid amount of time planning out content for the blog. I was feeling really good about everything, using new organizational tactics, and ready to rock and roll. Today's post was supposed to be a 10 minute destress and loosen up flow (I'm expanding the yoga content here), but then life happened.

Motherhood happened.

Fri-Yay Feels

Happy Fri-Yay + Cinco de Mayo friends,

Another week has gone by... I'm not quite sure how that is even possible, but isn't that how we all feel?  This is your reminder to stop putting things off!

It's time for my new weekly Fri-Yay feels rapid fire post (as rapid as I can be, haha).  This will be a weekly post where I share all sorts of random stuff that I'm either feeling or not feeling over the course of the week.  If you'd like me to include a category for next week, let me know in the comments.

Here we go...

Hello from Disney World!

A little small talk first.

I've been a bit quiet on the blog and Instagram (sorry if anyone noticed) because we've been enjoying a week in Disney with the family. We've spent some time in the parks, lots of time by the pool, eating lots of food, and just relaxing really. Bodie had fun with his grandparents, which has been nice for me! He loved the Dumbo ride and Peter Pan the most. He's also been dancing up a storm with the live music and performances.

Raw & Juicy Photoshoot

Hi everyone,

I hope you're all having a good week.  We have been trying to get lots of odds and ends done before we head to Disney world this weekend.  I can't wait to take Bodie to the Magic Kingdom.  I've been a million times, and even once when he was a baby, but this new toddler phase seems like it will be the best time ever.  Have you ever done Disney with a toddler before?  Any musts?

I recently had the chance to do a shoot at Raw & Juicy in Seaside, Florida...

Motivation is overrated

Feeling inspired is so nice, isn't it? I have these days where I get so much work done. The problem is, unless I have a set deadline for someone, most of the time the projects I start are never finished which leaves me swimming in a sea full of stagnation and stress.  Lately I've been thinking a lot about this as I have a project that I want to publish, and make available for all of you. I just can't seem to get it done...
