Why I'm Done Pursuing Balance

Helllooooooo!!!

It's hard to believe that the summer solstice came and went, isn't it? That's because life seems to fly by for all of us.  I was thinking about it... I have dedicated my entire life to intentional living, wellness, and pursuing happy.  Not only is it the front and center of my personal life, but my entire brand (which is really just an extension of my identity) focuses on this. So, achieving balance which is "essential" for feeling good physically and mentally, should be somewhat easy for me, right?

It's not.

An Unplanned Break

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend.  I was busy shooting for a really rad lifestyle brand (can't wait to share with you!), as well as a ton of time with my husband and Bodie, and of course, the beach.  Today is shaping up to be a bit of a catch up day, which feels really good.  My trip to NY was delayed by a week due to my dad's surgery (he just had his second surgery for a subdural hematoma).  He is on complete rest so he needs a very quiet week.

Since I rescheduled my flight last minute, it has left me with a week of zero appointments or plans.

Indulging Makes Me Healthier

Hey friends!

Today was a day of errands, cleaning, and packing.  We are headed on a little road trip tomorrow to meet up with family in central Florida.  I have a few day trips planned that I am really excited about.  Anyhow, when I plan for a road trip, the first thing that always comes to mind is food!  Nothing is worse than being in a car and being hungry.

Intentional Living Gone Bad

Hey guys,

I hope you all had a beautiful weekend!  I didn't do much of anything.  Well, I relaxed, went to the beach, took my son for pizza (and enjoyed a glass of wine while he ate), and went on a drive/adventure with Ed which lead us to some sketchy and questionable places.  I took Ellie, the Bug, out for a spin down 30A (the main beach road here) Sunday afternoon, and went to bed early.

Great weekend? Yes?  Aligned with things I love?  Yes.  Did I get much of anything done? Nope.

There were times where I would have looked at a weekend like the as a waste...

Birthday Feelings

Today is my birthday, and to be honest, I've never really liked my birthday. I remember being 10 years old, and crying because I didn't want to grow up. Every year I blow off my birthday like it's no big deal, but truthfully, I could spend the whole day in hiding and mourning.

I'm almost ashamed to blog about this topic

I couldn't sleep last night. I was in my bed, Bodie was fast asleep (for once!), and yet I was wide awake.  I couldn't relax my body. I felt so much tension and stress. Why? Well, I haven't done yoga in 4 days. I haven't meditated. I haven't made time to chill out. I've been working on my laptop until midnight for several nights in a row.  No wonder I was so stressed!

A quick relaxation exercise, which I am about to share with you, combined with a little deep breathing and I was snoozing... like magic!
