Manatee Adventure
I'm an animal person. If you are, too, you get what I mean by this. I LOVE animals.
I've seen manatees at Disney World, and have longed to see one on the wild for years. Little did I know when I moved to the Emerald Coast that they'd be in my backyard! For some reason I thought I'd need to be further south to really see them.
Flexible is Sustainable
Last week I spent a solid amount of time planning out content for the blog. I was feeling really good about everything, using new organizational tactics, and ready to rock and roll. Today's post was supposed to be a 10 minute destress and loosen up flow (I'm expanding the yoga content here), but then life happened.
Motherhood happened.
Disney World and Loving your Life
Hello from Disney World!
A little small talk first.
I've been a bit quiet on the blog and Instagram (sorry if anyone noticed) because we've been enjoying a week in Disney with the family. We've spent some time in the parks, lots of time by the pool, eating lots of food, and just relaxing really. Bodie had fun with his grandparents, which has been nice for me! He loved the Dumbo ride and Peter Pan the most. He's also been dancing up a storm with the live music and performances.
Motivation is overrated
Feeling inspired is so nice, isn't it? I have these days where I get so much work done. The problem is, unless I have a set deadline for someone, most of the time the projects I start are never finished which leaves me swimming in a sea full of stagnation and stress. Lately I've been thinking a lot about this as I have a project that I want to publish, and make available for all of you. I just can't seem to get it done...
A Simple Stress Relieving Exercise
I couldn't sleep last night. I was in my bed, Bodie was fast asleep (for once!), and yet I was wide awake. I couldn't relax my body. I felt so much tension and stress. Why? Well, I haven't done yoga in 4 days. I haven't meditated. I haven't made time to chill out. I've been working on my laptop until midnight for several nights in a row. No wonder I was so stressed!
A quick relaxation exercise, which I am about to share with you, combined with a little deep breathing and I was snoozing... like magic!
Moving Can Be Awesome, but Do This First
As you may know, I recently moved from upstate NY to the the panhandle of Florida. It's a move that I had dreamed about for years, and still cannot believe that it actually happened. I love palm trees, balmy air, and water that is so clear and blue that you question if it's real life every damn day. To get here, I gave up a lot. I made changes that were uncomfortable, and never looked back. I'm definitely happy...
...but not because we moved.
The Syllabus Effect
Yesterday morning I had a mini melt down which consisted of a tears and F-bombs. Not my finest moment, but it happens to us all from time to time. I was super stressed out by the Syllabus Effect.
How to Meditate if You Can't Meditate
"I can't meditate."
"I'm unable to sit still."
"My brain doesn't shut off."
Awesome! Me too.
Let's get clear on what meditation is...
